Covering Canadian innovation

Leveraging Canadian research and innovation has never been more vital to our prosperity and productivity. In 2024, I spoke with innovation leaders from across the country to discuss the challenges we face — and the extraordinary opportunities that lie before us. The result was a feature article titled "Advancing research for a prosperous future" for Canada's Innovation Leaders.

Writing about research

For close to a decade, I've been a regular contributor to the University of Ottawa's Research Perspectives magazine. I have written articles on neurogenesis, photonics, environmental economics, obesity, child development, and the impact of climate change on communities in Canada's North.

Reporting on science

In 2018, I was hired to write the first report by the newly appointed Chief Science Advisor of Canada, Dr. Mona Nemer. I consolidated the discussions of the 12-member expert panel and created a roadmap for the report, then worked closely with the Office of the Chief Science Advisor to craft the final report.

Communicating clean transit

The Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) works to advance clean transit in Canada by testing and launching zero-carbon transit technology. I have edited their reports, written content on their behalf, and coached their team on writing clearly and concisely.
