Covering Canadian innovation

As a senior correspondent with Research Money magazine, I report on Canadian research and innovation in the areas of health, medicine and the environment. I've written about Canada's Ocean Tracking Network, alternatives to diesel in Nunavut, new approaches to cancer treatment, and advances in inhalable vaccines.

Writing about research

For close to a decade, I've been a regular contributor to the University of Ottawa's Research Perspectives magazine. I have written articles on neurogenesis, photonics, environmental economics, obesity, child development, and the impact of climate change on communities in Canada's North.

Reporting on science

In 2018, I was hired to write the first report by the newly appointed Chief Science Advisor of Canada, Dr. Mona Nemer. I consolidated the discussions of the 12-member expert panel and created a roadmap for the report, then worked closely with the Office of the Chief Science Advisor to craft the final report.

Communicating clean transit

The Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) works to advance clean transit in Canada by testing and launching zero-carbon transit technology. I have edited their reports, written content on their behalf, and coached their team on writing clearly and concisely.
